Overview

​The Medical University of Vienna (MedUni Vienna), established in 1365, is one of Europe's oldest and most esteemed medical institutions. Originally the medical faculty of the University of Vienna, it became an independent university in 2004.

Academic Programs and Research

MedUni Vienna offers undergraduate programs in Medicine and Dentistry, along with a master's program in Medical Informatics. With approximately 8,600 students, it stands as the largest medical training center in German-speaking countries. The university is renowned for its cutting-edge research, particularly in fields such as Oncology, Cardiology, Immunology, and Medical Imaging. ​

Clinical Services

In partnership with Vienna General Hospital (AKH Wien), MedUni Vienna provides extensive medical services. Around 1,500 doctors from the university treat over 100,000 inpatients and approximately 540,000 outpatients annually, integrating patient care with medical education and research.
