Overview

The University of Warsaw (UW), established in 1816, is Poland's largest and one of its most prestigious public research institutions. Situated in the capital city, Warsaw, UW has a rich history spanning over two centuries and offers a diverse range of academic programs.​

Academic Structure and Programs

UW comprises 25 faculties, including Applied Linguistics, Law and Administration, and Physics, along with numerous academic units. These faculties provide a broad spectrum of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs across humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Notably, the university offers approximately 20 study programs conducted in English, catering to its international student body. ​

The university community includes over 36,000 undergraduate and graduate students, around 1,900 doctoral candidates, and 1,200 non-degree post-diploma students.
