Overview

The University of Palermo is located in Palermo, the capital of Sicily, an island positioned at the heart of the Mediterranean Sea.

Sicily, the southernmost region of Italy, is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, the Villa del Casale in Piazza Armerina, the breathtaking Aeolian Islands, the late-Baroque towns of Val di Noto, Syracuse and Pantalica, the Mount Etna volcano, and the most recent addition, the Arab-Norman architectural route of Palermo, Monreale, and Cefalù.

While Italian is the primary language of instruction at the University of Palermo, the university also offers several fully or partially English-taught programs, such as BSc (Hons) Nursing, BSc (Hons) Management Engineering, MS Business & Economic Sciences, MS Mediterranean Food Science and Technology, MS Neurosciences, and MS Cooperation, Development, and Migrations. Additionally, the MS Transnational German Studies program is conducted entirely in German.
