Australian Catholic University (ACU) is a globally recognised institution known for its commitment to excellence in education, research, and community engagement. Established in 1991 through the amalgamation of several Catholic teaching colleges, ACU is one of Australia's youngest and fastest-growing universities. It maintains a strong focus on combining academic rigour with a values-based education inspired by the Catholic intellectual tradition.

ACU has eight campuses across Australia, located in major cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, and Ballarat, as well as a campus in Rome, Italy. According to the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) 2024, ACU holds the 940th position globally, ranking 32nd in Oceania and 27th nationally within Australia. Despite these overall rankings, ACU excels in specific disciplines. Notably, it is ranked first in Australia and 28th globally for theology, divinity, and religious studies. Additionally, ACU is among the top 50 worldwide for education and nursing, and within the top 100 for sport science.
