Overview

Université de Lorraine (UL) is a public institution formed in 2012 through the merger of four universities in the Lorraine region of northeastern France. Although the university's origins date back to 1572, the merger established a hub for scientific progress, economic development, and knowledge exchange.

With 60,000 students, 6,900 staff members, 43 teaching departments, and 60 research centers, UL ranks as one of France’s largest universities.

The university has campuses across the region, each specializing in different fields. UL offers diverse curricula, emphasizing interdisciplinary connections to help students shape personalized career paths.
