Overview

Université Côte d'Azur is a prominent public institution in France that brings together 18 major academic entities from the Côte d'Azur region, centered around its historic university. Its core mission is to provide higher education for students and professionals, foster excellence in research, and drive innovation for the benefit of society.

Since its transformation on January 1, 2020, the university has focused on creating a 21st-century French university through enhanced interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity, promoting dynamic collaborations that bridge Education, Research, and Innovation. It maintains strong partnerships with both the public and private sectors at the local, national, and international levels.

As a leader in academic transformation and excellence, Université Côte d'Azur was awarded the UCA J.E.D.I. Initiative of Excellence (IdEx) in 2016, which was extended in 2021, positioning it among France's top 9 research-intensive universities with significant global impact. The university is home to the 3IA Côte d’Azur, one of four Interdisciplinary Institutes of Artificial Intelligence, and founded the French School of AI (EFELIA Côte d'Azur) in 2022. It also established Graduate Research Schools (EUR) and is a founding member of the European University "Ulysseus".

With campuses across Nice, Sophia Antipolis, Cannes, and other cities in the region, Université Côte d'Azur offers a beautiful setting between the sea and mountains. Its strategic location in Europe, with easy access via Nice Côte d'Azur International Airport, makes it an ideal hub for academic and scientific endeavors. The university employs over 3,000 staff and enrolls more than 30,000 students annually.
