Overview

Founded in 1958 and originally known as Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology, Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) has evolved into a nationally acclaimed multidisciplinary institution directly governed by the Ministry of Education. Over the past decade, BUCT has made significant advancements in science and technology, while also expanding its academic offerings to include management, economics, law, liberal arts, education, and medicine. The university has firmly established itself on the national stage, playing a key role in both the ‘211 Project’ and the ‘985 Advantage Subject Innovation Platform.’ BUCT continues to uphold its original mission of advancing scientific research and technological development, while striving to gain international recognition. Dedicated to innovation and preparing students for a dynamic global landscape, BUCT prides itself on cultivating talent across various disciplines. The university employs 2,275 staff members, including 700 faculty members holding professorial or associate professorial titles, along with six academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
