Overview

Victoria University (VU), located in Melbourne, one of the world’s most liveable cities, is a globally recognised institution ranked among the top 2% of universities worldwide by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. In 2018, VU introduced the innovative Block Model, a transformative approach to education where students focus on one unit every four weeks in a learner-centred environment. This model emphasises real-world problem-solving and small-group interactive learning and represents the largest implementation of block teaching across all disciplines globally. The initiative extended to postgraduate education in 2021.

The success of the Block Model was affirmed in 2018 when VU won the Victorian International Education Awards (university category) and the International Education of Australia Excellence Awards (innovation category).

As a dual-sector institution, VU uniquely combines Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training, offering a seamless learning experience from certificate courses to Ph.D. pathways. Its diverse educational options include foundation studies, higher education diplomas, and English language courses delivered through VU English, a world-class language centre.

With over 40,000 students enrolled across nine Melbourne campuses, including three in the city centre, and an additional campus in Sydney, VU fosters a vibrant and inclusive community. Its alumni network spans 240,000 graduates, including 30,000 professionals making an impact worldwide.

These rankings reflect the university's ongoing commitment to providing quality education and conducting impactful research across various disciplines.
