Founded in 1889, the University of New Mexico (UNM) is located on 600 acres along historic Route 66 in Albuquerque, a city with a population of over 500,000. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, from the mesas to the west and the Sandia Mountains to the east, Albuquerque offers a vibrant mix of culture, cuisine, and stunning views. UNM’s campus features Pueblo Revival architecture, reflecting the nearby Pueblo Indian villages. The nationally recognized Campus Arboretum provides a remarkable botanical experience in one of New Mexico’s vast public spaces.
