Overview

Jinan University, established in 1906, has weathered the nation's ups and downs while steadfastly pursuing truth and knowledge. Guided by its motto of "loyalty, sincerity, integrity, and respect," and focused on "modernization, internationalization, and comprehensiveness," the university has experienced rapid growth in recent years, producing over 200,000 graduates. The university consists of 25 colleges with 58 departments, offering 86 undergraduate majors. It provides 38 Level-I master’s programs, 5 Level-II master’s programs, 15 Level-I doctoral programs, and 4 Level-II doctoral programs. Jinan University is home to 15 post-doctoral research stations, 177 research institutes, and 84 laboratories. It has 4 national key disciplines, 8 key disciplines supported by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, 20 Level-I key disciplines in Guangdong Province, and 4 Level-II key disciplines. Additionally, the university boasts key research bases in various fields, including national humanities and social sciences, Chinese language and literature, and teaching Chinese as a foreign language, as well as 1 national engineering center and several ministerial and provincial laboratories.
