Overview

Beihang University (BUAA), founded in 1952 through the merger of aeronautical departments from eight leading Chinese universities, is now one of China’s top research institutions, supported by the national initiatives of Project 211, Project 985, and Project 2011. Located in Beijing, Beihang has over 29,951 students across 28 schools and two campuses, with many students participating in exchange programs with partner universities worldwide. A pioneer in offering postgraduate programs in English for international students, the university attracts over 1,700 students from 90 countries annually. The faculty comprises more than 2,300 members, covering diverse fields including science, engineering, economics, management, humanities, law, medicine, and the arts. Beihang is known for its excellence in aeronautics, astronautics, computer science, and management science, among other disciplines. The university has received 1,264 national and ministerial awards, including prestigious national science and technology honors. It also maintains strong industrial ties, contributing to more than half of its research projects.
