Overview

Established in 1956, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) is a research-focused institution based in Chengdu, China, and ranks among the top 100 in the QS University Rankings: BRICS 2016. Initially founded as the Chengdu Institute of Radio Engineering, it was designated a National Key Institute by China’s Ministry of Higher Education in 1960. With more than 31,000 students and 3,000 faculty members, UESTC offers a variety of scholarships for international students, including those from the US, the European Union, and other regions. The university provides both Chinese and English-taught programs, with the latter having a slightly higher tuition fee.
