Overview

Hunan University is nestled at the base of the scenic Yuelu Mountain and along the western banks of the serene Xiangjiang River, in the culturally and historically significant city of Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province. Renowned as an "Ancient Millenarian Academy, Famous Centennial University," it is one of the key comprehensive universities under the Ministry of Education. The university is part of China's prestigious "Project 211" and "Project 985," initiatives prioritizing investment in top-tier institutions. Professor Liu Keli serves as the Party Secretary of the CPC Hunan University Committee, while Professor Zhao Yueyu leads as President of this distinguished institution.

The university comprises a Graduate School and 23 colleges and departments, covering 11 diverse academic disciplines, including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, management, medicine, and arts. It offers 25 first-order disciplines with Ph.D. authorization, 41 with Master's degree authorization, and 20 academic degree authorizations. Additionally, it boasts 2 key first-order disciplines and 14 second-order disciplines recognized at the national level, along with 21 post-doctoral programs.
