This improvement reflects the university's strong academic reputation (80.8 points) and its leading position in sustainability among Italian universities​. In the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025, the University of Bologna is ranked 146th globally and maintains its status as the top-ranked university in Italy for the fifth consecutive year.
