Overview

Yeshiva University is a prominent Jewish institution located in New York City. It consists of three undergraduate colleges: Yeshiva College, Stern College for Women, and the Sy Syms School of Business, all spread across Manhattan campuses. A shuttle service connects these campuses, while the university also operates a campus in Israel, where over 600 students participate annually in the S. Daniel Abraham Israel Program. Freshmen are required to reside on campus, and the university boasts a wide range of student organizations, from academic clubs like the Computer Science Club to social initiatives such as the Student Holocaust Education Movement. The Yeshiva Maccabees sports teams compete in NCAA Division III.

The university fosters a vibrant religious and academic life with programs such as the YU Torah Online, regular Shabbat events, and student-run publications including The Commentator and The Observer. Yeshiva University is also renowned for its research capabilities at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and offers graduate degrees in Jewish studies through the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration and the Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies. These programs include specialized master's degrees in Medieval Jewish History and Jewish Philosophy.

In the US News 2024 rankings, it holds the position of 105 globally and 36 nationally​. In addition, the university has earned a 701 spot in the 2021 ARWU global rankings​. It also ranks 3 among universities in New York​. Yeshiva University is noted for its excellence in various fields, especially business, and continues to be recognized for its strong academic reputation and research contributions.
