The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) is a renowned research university in the United States, known for its strong focus on liberal arts. As a Public Ivy, UCSB holds a distinguished position among American universities.

UCSB's origins trace back to 1891 with the founding of the Anna Blake School, initially focusing on economics. After four decades of growth, it became part of the University of California system, expanding its academic offerings.
