Overview

Keele University, the first new UK university of the 20th century, was established to advance interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary education. It is renowned for pioneering the Dual Honours degree, pursued by approximately 70% of students, though single honours degrees and a multidisciplinary foundation year are also available. The University hosts 10,000 students from over 120 countries, with almost all undergraduates having the opportunity to study abroad for a semester at one of its 80 partner institutions. Regularly ranked among the top three for student satisfaction, Keele offers a stunning campus spanning 600 acres of parkland, featuring woods, lakes, and picturesque landscapes. At the heart of the campus is Keele Hall, a 19th-century Grade II-listed building recognised by English Heritage.

Keele University is ranked 57th in the Times University Guide 2025 and 72nd in the Guardian University Guide 2025. Consistently performing well in the National Student Survey, Keele is regularly among the UK’s top ten universities for student satisfaction, and its Student Union is ranked in the top five nationwide for its diverse range of activities. The Daily Telegraph has recognised Keele’s campus as the 6th most beautiful in the UK. Additionally, Keele features prominently in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. The REF 2021 results highlight a 75% growth in the volume of world-leading research at Keele since REF 2014, with 80% of the University’s research rated as either world-leading or internationally excellent (4 or 3).
