The NL Scholarship (formerly known as Holland Scholarship) is aimed at international students who wish to study a bachelor's or master's program at a Dutch higher education institution. Who Can Apply?

1. Non-EEA Nationality: Applicants must hold citizenship outside of the European Economic Area.

3. First-Time Study in the Netherlands: The scholarship is intended for students who are enrolling in a Dutch institution for the first time.

4. Academic Excellence: Applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance in their previous studies, as selection is based on merit.

Application Procedure

• Choose a Participating Institution: Applicants should first select a Dutch university or university of applied sciences that offers the NL Scholarship. The list of participating institutions can be found on the official NL Scholarship website.

• Apply to a Degree Programme: Students must apply for admission to a bachelor’s or master’s programme at their chosen institution. Each institution has its own admission requirements, so it’s essential to review these carefully.

• Submit a Scholarship Application: Once accepted to a Dutch institution, students can apply for the NL Scholarship by following the instructions provided by the institution. The application may require academic transcripts, a motivation letter, and proof of English proficiency.

• Deadline: The deadline for the NL Scholarship varies by institution but generally falls around March or April each year.

What Financial Support is Available?

NL Scholarship provides the recipient with:

• Scholarship amount  €5,000.
• Please note that this is not a full-tuition scholarship.
