Who Can Apply?

• Geared towards Indian students commencing their full-time Undergraduate degree in France, this scholarship provides comprehensive financial support as mentioned above. 
• The eligibility criteria includes that the Indian student should be a new commencing student in France, and they must be 23 years of age at maximum. 
• The applicant must be enrolled for 2025 intakes and must have completed secondary schooling in India.

Application Procedure

1. Research and Apply for Programmes: Prospective students should research and apply to their chosen master's or doctoral programmes at French institutions. It is essential to ensure that the programme aligns with their academic and career goals.

2. Complete the Scholarship Application: Once accepted into a programme, students can proceed to apply for the Charpak Scholarship through the Campus France website. The application usually includes personal information, academic qualifications, and details about the chosen programme.

3. Provide Supporting Documents: Applicants are required to submit several supporting documents, including academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose, and proof of language proficiency (usually French or English, depending on the programme).

4. Interview Process: Some candidates may be invited for an interview as part of the selection process. This is an opportunity for applicants to discuss their motivations, aspirations, and suitability for the scholarship.

What Financial Support is Available?

• a student visa fee waiver and Etudes en France fee waiver or reimbursement,
• a living allowance of €860 per month,
• accommodation assistance (subject to availability)

Other Details

Cancellation or Discontinuation of the Scholarship

The Embassy of France in India reserves the right to cancel or discontinue the scholarship under the following circumstances:

• The recipient receives another scholarship funded by the French government, such as an Erasmus scholarship or one offered by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie.
• The recipient enters into an apprenticeship or professional training contract.
• The recipient undertakes a non-mandatory internship that is not a required part of their course.
• The recipient opts for a gap year, academic exchange, or any period abroad at the same or a different institution.
• The recipient is unable to obtain a visa for the chosen course of study.

Evaluation and Selection Process

All submitted applications will be reviewed to verify compliance with general eligibility requirements, including academic qualifications, age restrictions, and the submission of necessary documents.

Round 1

Eligible applications will be assessed by the selection committee based on the applicant's academic achievements, consistency, quality of the statement of purpose, and overall profile. There is no specific minimum CGPA or percentage required to qualify for the scholarship.

Round 2

Candidates shortlisted in the first round will be invited for an online interview, scheduled to take place between 7 April and 25 April 2025. Applicants must ensure their availability during this period, as interviews will not be rescheduled.
