Who Can Apply?

• Applicants must be from countries with bilateral agreements with Croatia (for Application Pool 1)

• Completion of at least two semesters at their home institution

• A bachelor's degree for MA programs, a master's degree for PhD programs, and a PhD degree for postdoctoral research

Language Proficiency:

• Minimum B1 level in Croatian for Croatian language programs

• Proficiency in English or Croatian, depending on the chosen program

Age Limit:

• Maximum 30 years for BA, MA, and PhD applicants

• No age restrictions for postdoctoral and language program applicants

Application Procedure

1. Choose Your Scholarship Type: Identify the most suitable scholarship for your academic goals.

2. Prepare Required Documents: Gather all necessary documents as outlined above.

3. Submit Your Application:

   • For Application Pool 1: Apply through the Agency’s online system and ensure nomination by the national competent authority.

   • For Application Pool 2: Submit the online application along with a recommendation letter from a Croatian language professor.

4. Required Documents:

   • Completed application form

   • Copy of passport or ID

   • Europass-format Curriculum Vitae (CV)

   • Letter of Interest (1-2 pages)

   • Proof of enrollment at home institution

   • Academic transcripts (last two semesters)

   • Recommendation letters (1-2, depending on the program)

   • Letter of Invitation from a Croatian host institution (for research and PhD applicants)

   • Proof of language proficiency (English or Croatian)

Application Pool 1: Scholarships Based on Bilateral Agreements

These scholarships are available to students from countries that have bilateral agreements with Croatia. The following options are offered:

• A1: One semester of Croatian language studies (4-5 months)

• A2: Partial studies for undergraduate or graduate students (4-10 months)

• B: Full undergraduate (BA) or graduate (MA) studies (36 or 24 months)

• C1: Full PhD studies (36 months)

• C2: Partial PhD studies or research (1-10 months)

• D: Postdoctoral studies or research (1-10 months)

• E: Short-term postdoctoral research visits (3-29 days)

• F: Summer seminar on Croatian language and literature (2 weeks)

Application Pool 2: Scholarships for Croatian Language Studies

These scholarships are open to students of Croatian language, literature, or Slavic studies, regardless of bilateral agreements. The options include:

• A1: Semester studies in Croatian language (4-5 months)

• F: Summer seminar on Croatian language and literature (2 weeks)
