Overview

The University of Sussex, in collaboration with the Stuart Hall Foundation (SHF), is offering a 4-year PhD scholarship for the 2025-26 academic year, exclusively for Black British postgraduate researchers in the Arts and Humanities or Social Sciences. For applicants without a Master’s degree, the scholarship may also cover an additional year to complete a Master’s qualification. Inspired by the legacy of Professor Stuart Hall, the SHF fosters creative collaborations aimed at promoting public education and addressing pressing issues of race and inequality within culture and society.
