Overview

The United Nations International Law Fellowship Programme offers a unique and prestigious opportunity. Hosted by the Codification Division of the United Nations Office of Legal Affairs, this fellowship aims to enhance the expertise of government officials and educators specializing in international law from developing countries and emerging economies. Participants will receive high-quality training from scholars and practitioners, and actively engage in discussions to broaden their understanding of various facets of international law.

The fellowship will take place at the Peace Palace in The Hague from 30 June to 1 August 2025, offering participants a chance to study in the Netherlands. Fellows will be introduced to a comprehensive summer course at the Peace Palace, with training materials and interactive seminars aimed at enhancing participants' proficiency in international law. Upon successful completion, all fellows will receive certificates recognizing their achievement.

This fellowship also offers generous financial support, including economy-class airfare, accommodation, medical insurance, and registration fees for the session at the The Hague Academy of International Law. Travel and training materials are fully covered, ensuring a seamless experience for all fellows. For those who are unable to secure funding, self-funded positions are available, and training materials are provided at no additional cost.
