What Financial Support is Available?
Scholarships cover the tuition fee of the study programme you are admitted to. It is a tuition fee waiver only; no additional financial support for living expenses or travel grants is provided.

Conditions for the Axel Adler Scholarship 2025
- Tuition Fee Coverage: The Axel Adler Scholarship fully covers tuition fees for the entire program the student is admitted to. This includes 4 semesters (120 credits) for most Master’s programs, except for the Master’s program in Investigative Journalism, which covers 2 semesters (60 credits). For Bachelor’s programs, it covers 6 semesters (180 credits). However, the scholarship does not cover living or accommodation expenses.
- Insurance: Scholarship recipients are insured under FAS+, provided by the Swedish Legal, Financial, and Administrative Service Agency (Kammarkollegiet). Detailed terms and conditions are available on Kammarkollegiet’s website and as an attachment.
- Academic Requirements: Scholars must complete at least 75% of the semester’s credits to retain the scholarship. Regular academic performance reviews are conducted.
- Revocation of Scholarship: The scholarship will be revoked if the student fails to start their program on time, discontinues their studies, or violates the University of Gothenburg's study rules and regulations. Suspension from studies will also result in the withdrawal of the scholarship.
- Residence Permit: Scholarship holders must promptly apply for a residence permit for studies through the Swedish Migration Agency. To obtain the permit, students must demonstrate sufficient financial resources to support themselves. The scholarship remains valid only if the residence permit is granted in time for the program's start.
