Who Can Apply?

• Only students from countries outside the EU/EEA are eligible for the scholarship.
• Applicants must have been admitted to a Master’s program at UvA.
• The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, and the applicant must demonstrate strong academic achievements.
• A good command of English is required, with proof of proficiency through tests like IELTS or TOEFL.

Application Procedure

1. Before applying for the Amsterdam Merit Scholarship, students must first be admitted to a Master's program at the university.
2. After receiving admission, students can apply for the AMS through the Graduate Schools of their respective faculties.
3. Each faculty has its own application deadline, so students should consult the faculty’s website for exact details.

What Financial Support is Available?

The amount of the scholarship can range from €2,000 to €25,000, depending on the program and faculty. In some cases, the AMS can be supplemented with the Holland Government Scholarship, which provides additional financial assistance to eligible students.
