Overview

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program is a prestigious initiative funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, designed to attract top international students to pursue master’s and PhD degrees at French higher education institutions. The scholarship aims to prepare future decision-makers in both the public and private sectors and increase France's international influence in higher education.

Who Can Apply?

• Nationality: The Eiffel Scholarship is open to non-French nationals. French citizens, including those with dual nationality, are not eligible.
• Age limit:
  • For master’s level: Candidates must be 25 years old or younger at the time of the application.
  • For PhD level: Candidates must be 30 years old or younger at the time of the application.
• Academic level:
  • For master’s programs: Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
  • For PhD programs: Applicants must have already completed a master’s degree (or its equivalent) and meet the specific academic requirements for a PhD at the French institution.
• Previous applications: Students who have previously received the Eiffel Scholarship for a master’s program are not eligible to apply again at the same academic level. However, they can reapply for the PhD scholarship.

Application Procedure

The Eiffel Scholarship application process is different from most scholarships because candidates cannot apply directly. Instead, the French higher education institution where the student is seeking admission must submit the application on their behalf.

• Step 1: Apply to a French institution: Candidates must first apply for admission to a French institution offering their desired master’s or PhD program.
• Step 2: Nomination by the institution: Once admitted or during the admission process, students can request the institution to nominate them for the Eiffel Scholarship. The institution will then handle the scholarship application process.
• Step 3: Application submission: The French institution submits the completed Eiffel Scholarship application to Campus France, the agency that manages the scholarship program.
• Step 4: Await results: Campus France reviews applications, and the selected candidates are notified through the French institution.

What Financial Support is Available?

• At Master's level - a monthly allowance of €1,181 (a maintenance allowance of €1,031 and a monthly stipend of €150).
• At Doctoral or PhD level - a monthly allowance of €1,800
