Overview

The Tata Scholarship for Cornell University is a prestigious and fully funded scholarship program designed to support Indian undergraduate students pursuing their education at Cornell University in the United States. This scholarship is a result of a collaboration between Cornell University and the Tata Education and Development Trust, part of India’s Tata Group. It ensures that talented Indian students with financial need have the opportunity to study at one of the world's leading universities. The Cornell University Tata Scholarship program awards approximately 20 scholarships to deserving Indian students. Through this, the trust ensures that academically excellent students from India have access to Cornell University, regardless of their financial conditions. The Tata scholarship amount will be awarded annually for the four-year program. The scholarship amount covers the expense of tuition fees and annual course fees.

Who Can Apply?

• Nationality: Must an Indian citizen/resident.
• Be a pass out from any Indian senior secondary school.
• Financial Requirement: Must qualify for need-based financial aid.
• English Language Proficiency: Must submit either TOEFL or IELTS score.
  • TOEFL-iBT: 100
  • IELTS: 7.0
• Admission Status: Must have an admission offer from Cornell University for any undergraduate degree program.

Application Procedure

The students are supposed to complete the College Scholarship Service (CSS) profile to fulfill the requirements of the application process. As a part of the application process, students must complete two application forms:

• Cornell University Tata Scholarship Application
• Need-based Financial Aid Form for International Students 

Some important details to be provided at the time of the application are:

• Self-income and parent’s income
• Noncustodial parent asset and income
• Citizenship documents
• Photocopy of the Passport

What Financial Support is Available?

The Tata Scholarship covers the full cost of attendance for the recipient, including:

• Tuition fees for the entire duration of the undergraduate program.
• Living expenses (housing, meals, and other related costs).
• Books and academic supplies.
• Travel expenses (one round trip to and from India annually)
