Who Can Apply?

• Nationality:

  • Citizens of Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, People’s Republic of China, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, or Vietnam.

  • Holders of Hong Kong permanent identity cards.

  • Applicants must not be citizens of New Zealand or holders of New Zealand residence class visas.

• Academic Level: Full-time enrolment in the second, third, or fourth year of an undergraduate degree program.

• Selection Criteria:

  • Academic achievement.

  • Financial need.

  • Leadership and personal qualities, demonstrated through a personal statement.

Application Procedure

1. Online Submission: Applications must be submitted online by 31 March 2025.

2. Reapplications Accepted: Previous recipients may apply again and will be considered equally with new applicants.

Important Notes

• The scholarship is tenable for one year and is co-tenable with other awards unless stated otherwise.

• Continuation is conditional on satisfactory academic progress and adherence to university regulations.

• If recipients fail to meet enrolment conditions, the scholarship may be withdrawn, and funds may be recovered.

What Financial Support is Available?

• Financial assistance valued at NZD 10,000.

• The scholarship amount is credited directly to the recipient’s University fees account.
