Who Can Apply?

• To be eligible, candidates must have a minimum overall GPA of 'A' on the ECTS scale or its equivalent top-level grade on other international grading systems.
• Students in their 3rd year of the Sivøk programme are eligible to apply.
• Both Norwegian and international citizens can apply. International applicants who have completed a bachelor's degree in Norway are considered residents of Norway for this scholarship.
• Candidates must be admitted to the first year of a Master of Science degree program at either the Oslo or Bergen campus, excluding the BI-Luiss Joint Masters in Marketing.

Application Procedure

• Scholarship applications are not accepted via email, except for 3rd-year Sivøk applicants (see below). Always submit your scholarship application simultaneously with your admission application through the online portal.
• Upload your CV/resume and a one-page scholarship application letter explaining why you should be considered for the scholarship. Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, not financial need.
• Ensure you upload these documents in the ‘Scholarship’ section of your online application for admission. You must also include all required documents for the Master of Science program admission evaluation. The scholarship application will only be considered if a complete admission application is submitted and the admission offer is accepted.
• 3rd-year Siviløkonom students at BI can apply in the spring of their third year by emailing their CV and scholarship application letter to info@bi.no, using the subject line: BI Presidential Scholarship Application.
• International applicants applying for the BI Presidential Scholarship will also be considered for the MSc International Scholarship, and no separate application letter is required for that.

What Financial Support is Available?

Please note:

You may apply for multiple scholarships; however, BI Norwegian Business School will grant only one scholarship per applicant. Scholarships awarded are specific to a particular academic program at a designated campus and cannot be transferred.

International candidates eligible for a student loan in Norway from Lånekassen (e.g., a 180 ECTS bachelor’s degree from a Norwegian institution) will be considered domestic applicants for scholarship purposes and will not be eligible for stipends towards living costs.

Only candidates applying for their first master's degree will be considered for Master of Science scholarships. Additionally, only applicants admitted to a Master of Science program starting in Autumn 2025 are eligible for this scholarship.
