The Science@Leuven Scholarship offers an exciting opportunity for motivated students who are eager to pursue a Master’s degree at the Faculty of Science of KU Leuven, one of Europe’s leading research universities. This prestigious scholarship, funded by the Science@Leuven Fund, is aimed at supporting students who demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to advancing scientific knowledge. 

The Science@Leuven Scholarship is a highly competitive academic award that offers partial tuition fee waivers and an allowance to students pursuing Master’s degree programmes in various scientific fields at KU Leuven. The scholarship is designed for students from all nationalities who have completed a Bachelor’s degree from a non-Belgian university. The programme encourages students who wish to contribute to scientific research and innovation while studying in one of Europe’s most renowned institutions.

Who Can Apply?

• This scholarship is open to students of all nationalities.
• Applicants must meet the specific admission criteria for the respective programmes. Please refer to the detailed eligibility requirements for each programme.

Eligibility Conditions:

• Applicants must not have previously studied or worked at KU Leuven and should not hold a Master's degree or PhD.
• Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from a non-Belgian university that grants access to the Master's programme they wish to pursue.
• Applicants must be willing to serve as ambassadors for the programme they are applying for.

Application Procedure

1. Step 1: Apply for the Master’s programme of your choice at KU Leuven via the KU Leuven application tool. Make sure to follow the application instructions carefully.
2. Step 2: Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an email confirming your submission.
3. Step 3: Apply for the Science@Leuven Scholarship and upload the application confirmation email.

Required Documents

• Application for the Master’s programme.
• A transcript of records (listing the courses and grades).
• A brief description (half a page to one page) of the courses that you consider most relevant to the Master’s programme you are applying for.
• Two reference letters from internationally renowned professors.
• A letter of motivation for the programme.
• Specific Scholarship Registration Form for the Science@Leuven Scholarship.

What Financial Support is Available?

• Allowance of € 12,000 per academic year for a maximum of two consecutive years.
