Overview

The Reach Oxford Scholarship (previously known as the Oxford Student Scholarship) is an undergraduate scholarship offered by the University of Oxford for students from low-income and developing countries who, for political or financial reasons, or due to lack of access to educational facilities, would not otherwise be able to study at Oxford. It is designed to support students who show excellent academic potential but need financial assistance to pursue their education.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants who want to secure Reach Oxford Scholarship must fulfill the eligibility criteria listed below:

• Must be a resident of the countries who receive official development assistance from the DAC and OECD.
  • Some of the countries include India, Egypt, Cambodia, Argentina, Brazil, China, Malaysia, South Africa, Thailand, Zimbabwe, etc.
• Must be enrolled in any UG program at the University of Oxford except for Medicine.
• Must be an international freshman student at the University of Oxford.
• No prior higher education: The scholarship is only available to students who are applying to study their first undergraduate degree.
• Applicants must demonstrate that they are unable to pursue education at Oxford without financial support.
• Applicants must have received an offer of admission to an undergraduate program at the University of Oxford. Only applicants who have been accepted for admission to the university are considered.

Application Procedure

• To apply for an undergraduate course at the University of Oxford, you must submit your application through UCAS by 15 October 2024 and be successfully offered a place.

• If you are offered admission for the 2025 entry, you should carefully review the guidance notes, go through the application questions, and submit the Undergraduate Scholarships application form online by 12 noon (UK time) on 12 February 2025. Scholarship applications will open on 15 January 2025.

• For applicants applying by the 12 February 2025 scholarship deadline, the selection process will take place in March 2025, and the outcome will be communicated by April 2025.

What Financial Support is Available?

The Reach Oxford Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship that covers:

• University tuition fees for the full duration of the course.
• Living expenses (accommodation, food, and other day-to-day costs) during term time.
• One return airfare each year to and from the student’s home country.

• Scholars must submit an annual report detailing their academic progress, social activities, and achievements at the University.
• Continuation of the scholarship depends on satisfactory academic performance in subsequent years.
• Competition for the scholarship is high, and there is no additional funding available for applicants who are not awarded the scholarship.
• If you have a deferred entry offer for an undergraduate course at Oxford, you should apply for the scholarship in January of the year you will begin your course (e.g., January 2025 if you start in October 2025).
• The scholarship can only be applied for once.
• For those applying to Oxford’s Astrophoria Foundation Year Programme, the scholarship should be applied for in January of the year you will start your undergraduate course (e.g., January 2026 for October 2026 entry).
• The University will notify Foundation Year students about available scholarships when progressing to their undergraduate course.
• Only one undergraduate scholarship application can be considered per student.
