Overview

The Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals (SISGP) offers an incredible opportunity for international students to pursue their master’s degree in Sweden. With a strong focus on building a network of leaders committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this scholarship is a part of Sweden’s global initiative to empower change-makers.

Who Can Apply?

• Be a citizen of one of the 33 eligible countries for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals;
• Apply for a master’s programme that is eligible for the SI scholarship;  
• Be liable to pay tuition fees at University Admissions;  
• Have demonstrated work experience; 
• Have demonstrated leadership experience from current or previous employer, or from civil society engagement.  

Application Procedure

To apply for the Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals (SISGP), please follow these steps:

1. Apply for a Master’s Program (17 October 2024 – 16 January 2025)
   Apply for a master’s program at universityadmissions.se within the specified timeframe. Only the master’s programs listed as eligible for SISGP are accepted.

   • You can apply for up to four eligible programs by the deadline, 16 January 2025.
   • After submitting your application, you will receive a personal application number (eight digits). Keep this number for the SISGP application.
   • Ensure that your application fee and required documents reach University Admissions by 10 February 2025. Note that the application fee is non-refundable.
   • Missing the deadlines or failing to follow the proper procedures will make you ineligible for the scholarship. The eligibility and procedures for SISGP and university admissions are distinct.

2. Apply for the SI Scholarship (10-28 February 2025)
   After completing your master’s program application, you can apply for the SISGP scholarship:

   • Submit the necessary documents digitally through the online application portal between 10-28 February 2025.
   • The portal will be open from 00:00 CET on 10 February 2025 to 23:59 CET on 28 February 2025.
   • The portal can be accessed via this page during the application period.

Required Documents:

• Motivation Letter: Use the SISGP template for the 2025/2026 motivation letter.
• Curriculum Vitae (CV): Use the SISGP CV template, ensuring it doesn’t exceed the specified page limit.
• Two Letters of Reference: Use the SISGP reference letter form. At least one letter must be based on your work experience. It is a bonus if the second letter comes from your involvement in networks or civil society organizations. The letters should be signed and stamped by the referee or notary office and uploaded as one PDF file.
• Proof of Work and Leadership Experience: Use the SISGP form for verifying your work and leadership experience. The form must be signed and stamped by the relevant organization or notary office and uploaded as one PDF file.
• Passport Copy: Include a clear copy of your passport, showing your name, citizenship, and photograph. This should be uploaded along with your CV as the final page. Ensure that you have a valid passport for this step.

What Financial Support is Available?

1. Full Tuition Fees: Paid directly to the university.
2. Monthly Stipend: SEK 12,000 to cover living expenses.
3. Travel Grant: SEK 15,000 for international students.
4. Insurance: Covers illness and accidents.

Other Details

Eligible Countries:
To qualify for the scholarship, you must be a citizen of a country that is eligible for the program. The following countries are eligible to apply for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals:
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Belarus, Brazil, Cambodia, Cameroon, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Moldova, Morocco, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Work Experience:
You must have at least 3,000 hours of verifiable work experience.

Leadership Experience:
You should have proven leadership experience from your current or past employment.

University Admissions:
You must be required to pay tuition fees to Swedish universities, have completed the university admission process, and be admitted to one of the eligible master’s programs by 3 April 2025.

Country of Citizenship:
You must be a citizen of an eligible country as per the scholarship program.

Dual Citizenship:
If you hold dual citizenships, both of which are eligible for the SI scholarship, you must select only one citizenship when applying. You can apply for only one SI scholarship program. If you apply for more than one using different citizenships, your application will be disqualified.

Master’s Programs:
The master’s programs you apply to must be eligible for SI scholarships.
