Mid Sweden University (Mittuniversitetet) offers an exceptional opportunity for high-performing new students who have been admitted to a study program at the university. For those looking to pursue their master's degree in Sweden, the university provides a limited number of scholarships. These scholarships are available for programs starting in the autumn semesters, offering both national and international students a chance to study in Sweden’s vibrant academic environment.

Who Can Apply?

• Language Requirements: Proficiency in English.
• All countries except the UK and EU nations.
• Other Requirements:
  • Applicants must be from non-EU/EEA/Switzerland countries that are required to pay tuition fees.
  • Applicants must have completed a first degree (undergraduate) equivalent to at least 180 Swedish credits.
  • Proof of English proficiency through an internationally recognized test (TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent).

Application Procedure

• Apply for the Program:

  • Create an account on the university’s admission portal.
  • Choose your program and submit the application, including a non-refundable application fee of 900 SEK.
  • Upload required documents (transcripts, degree certificates, proof of English proficiency, etc.).
  • Ensure all documents are in the official language of the country of study or translated into one of the six accepted languages (English, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, French, or German).

• Apply for the Scholarship:

  • After submitting your university application, complete the scholarship application online.
  • Reflect on why you chose your program and how it aligns with your professional development.

What Financial Support is Available?

The Mid Sweden University Scholarship provides recipients with the following financial support:

• Tuition fee waiver ranging from 70,000 SEK to 250,000 SEK, depending on the chosen program.
• Travel costs, living expenses, and other costs are not covered by the scholarship and must be financed separately.

Other Details

No money will be disbursed to the scholarship holder. Instead, the scholarship amount will be deducted from the tuition fee invoice, which will be sent to the student. The student will also receive an email which confirms the payment of the tuition fee when the remaining 25% have been paid. No separate scholarship certificate will be provided. 

Mid Sweden University will inform the Swedish Migration Agency that the tuition fee has been paid. Therefore, no certificate is needed for the residence permit application. A scholarship contract will be handed out upon arrival on campus.

Selection Process

The scholarship selection is based on academic achievements and study intent. Applicants will be evaluated on:

• The relevance of the chosen program to their career goals.
• Their motivations for applying to Mid Sweden University.
• How the program’s objectives align with their future professional plans.

Candidates will be notified of the selection results by April 7, 2025, and must respond to the scholarship offer within 7 days.
