The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s in Artificial Intelligence (EMAI) Scholarship is a prestigious, fully-funded program designed to cultivate the next generation of AI experts. Supported by the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union, this scholarship provides students with a unique opportunity to pursue advanced studies in Artificial Intelligence across top European universities.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the EMAI Scholarship, you must:
- Open to international students from all nationalities.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Demonstrate a strong academic record and genuine motivation to study AI.
- Provide proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent).
- Meet additional criteria outlined by the program’s partner universities.

31/12/2024 at 23:59 (CET) for candidates interested in Erasmus Mundus Scholarships (EMS). DEADLINE EXTENDED: 08/01/2025 at 23:59 (CET)
- 2nd period: 09/01/2025 - 18/03/2025 at 23:59 (CET) for tuition fee waiver candidates.
- 3rd period: 19/03/2025 - 05/06/2025 at 23:59 (CET) for worldwide self-funded candidates.
- 4th period: 06/06/2025 - 06/07/2025 at 23:59 (CET) exclusively for EU self-funded candidates.
Academic Requirements
Candidates applying for the Master's programme must have completed:
- A study programme of at least the first cycle, equivalent to a minimum of 180 ECTS, in fields such as information or communication technologies, engineering, physics, mathematics, and statistics, or an equivalent programme completed in accordance with existing regulations;
- A study programme of at least the first cycle, equivalent to a minimum of 180 ECTS, in other professional fields, or an equivalent programme completed according to existing regulations, provided the candidate has fulfilled necessary study requirements prior to enrolment, essential for further academic progress; or
- A study programme of at least the first cycle, equivalent to a minimum of 180 ECTS, in other professional fields, or an equivalent programme completed according to existing regulations. This must include between 10 and 60 ECTS in the areas mentioned in point (a), as determined by the EMAI Academic Programme Committee.
The EMAI Academic Programme Committee will verify that candidates have completed the following coursework during the application process:
- Mathematical courses: A minimum of 12 ECTS covering topics such as calculus, linear algebra, logic, discrete mathematics, combinatorics, probability and statistics, information theory, graph theory, and number theory.
- Programming courses: A minimum of 12 ECTS covering topics like programming paradigms, algorithms, and data structures.
- Computing science or computer engineering courses: A minimum of 12 ECTS in areas such as cryptography, security, computer networks, computer hardware, theoretical computer science, or similar subjects.
