Overview

The Department of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research (SRH) at the World Health Organization (WHO) oversees the UNDP-UNFPA-UNICEF-WHO-World Bank Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction (HRP). HRP serves as the primary tool within the United Nations system for identifying research priorities on sexual and reproductive health and rights. It also promotes, conducts, evaluates, and coordinates interdisciplinary research, collaborates with countries to strengthen national research capabilities, and encourages the application of research findings in policymaking and sexual and reproductive health programmes. The Department relies on research and global expertise to establish norms, standards, and guidelines for sexual and reproductive health and rights. Further details on SRH and HRP are available at https://www.who.int/teams/sexual-and-reproductive-health-and-research.
