The Khalifa University Undergraduate Scholarship in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a prestigious financial aid program designed to support academically talented students who wish to pursue undergraduate studies at Khalifa University. This scholarship aims to attract high-achieving students from the UAE and around the world to study in one of the leading research-focused universities in the region.

Who Can Apply?

Master Degree Program Applicants:

• Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent (e.g. an upper second-class honors in a UK-style degree, from a reputable accredited institution).
• A minimum level of English proficiency in the form of either:
  • iBT TOEFL (internet-based test) score of 91 or equivalent, or
  • Overall academic IELTS score of 6.5, or
  • 1550 EmSAT English score
• A minimum quantitative score of 150 in the General Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required for admission to all Master of Science programs. Applicants must attempt all three sections of the GRE.
• A minimum of two referee recommendations (provided via online form).
• Statement of purpose (500-1,000 words).
• Admission interview.

Doctoral Degree Program Applicants

• NEW REQUIREMENT: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 out of 4.0 or equivalent from a reputable accredited institution (for Bachelor’s to PhD direct admission), or
• Completion of a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum CGPA of 3.25 out of 4.0 or equivalent from a reputable accredited institution.
• A minimum level of English proficiency in the form of either:
  • iBT TOEFL (internet-based test) score of 91 or equivalent, or
  • Overall academic IELTS score of 6.5, or
  • 1550 EmSAT English score
• A minimum quantitative score of 150 in the general Graduate Record Examination (GRE).  Applicants must attempt all three sections of the GRE.
• A minimum of two referee recommendations (provided via online form).
• Statement of purpose (500-1,000 words).
• Research statement (500-1,000 words).
• Admission interview.

Application Procedure

• Check eligibility: Ensure you meet the academic and language proficiency requirements for the undergraduate program and scholarship.
• Apply for admission: Submit your application for undergraduate admission via Khalifa University’s online portal.
• Provide necessary documents: Ensure all required documents are submitted, including academic transcripts, standardized test scores, and proof of language proficiency.
• Await the outcome: If you are admitted and meet the scholarship criteria, you will be notified about the scholarship award.

Khalifa University PhD Scholarship Benefits

• Full tuition fee coverage.
• Basic monthly stipend of AED 20,000.
• Additional monthly allowance of AED 20,000, subject to approval and meeting academic progress requirements.
• Provision of textbooks by the University.
• Support for participation in international research conferences, subject to approval.
• Medical insurance for full-time international students sponsored by Khalifa University.
• Approved mobilization and demobilization flights between the student's home country and Abu Dhabi for full-time overseas students.
• UAE visa application fees covered for full-time international students.
• Post-graduation service commitment to work with Khalifa University or a designated entity for a duration equivalent to the study period. The University reserves the right not to offer a post upon graduation.
