Who Can Apply?

• Candidates must hold citizenship from a non-EU/EEA country.
• They must not have been previously enrolled in a degree program at any university or applied sciences institution in the Netherlands.
• Proof of enrollment in a full-time, English-taught degree program at HAN University of Applied Sciences is required.
• Applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency with an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher, a TOEFL iBT score of at least 90, or a Cambridge Certificate (CAE or CPE).

Application Procedure

1. Ensure you meet all the eligibility requirements, including nationality, prior enrollment, admission into a full-time English-taught degree program at HAN, and English proficiency.

2. Make sure you are accepted into the relevant degree program before the application deadline. Ensure that your diplomas and certificates are evaluated and submit your application well in advance.

3. Collect all necessary documents, such as proof of nationality, educational transcripts, admission letter, and English proficiency test scores.

4. Write a motivational letter explaining why you’d be a successful HAN student, create a short video addressing specific prompts, and prepare an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).

5. Submit your application along with all required documents and additional materials by the specified deadline, following the application instructions provided by HAN University.

6. After submitting your application, wait for a notification from HAN University regarding the status of your application and any further steps.

What Financial Support is Available?

For Bachelor's Degree Students

• HAN NL Scholarship (formerly HAN Holland Scholarship):

  • Provides €2,500 during the 1st semester and another €2,500 in the 2nd semester.
  • In subsequent years, students can receive €2,500 annually for up to 3 years.
  • Students must maintain eligibility by earning at least 45 credits each academic year.

• Honors Scholarship:

  • No application is required; students are selected by the academic board based on their exceptional academic performance in the 1st year.
  • Eligible students who didn’t receive the HAN NL Scholarship can receive €2,500 starting in the 2nd year and in subsequent years, provided they achieve the required 45 credits annually.

For Master's Degree Students

• HAN NL Scholarship:

  • Grants €2,500 in the 1st semester and another €2,500 in the 2nd semester, totaling €5,000.

• Honors Scholarship:

  • Automatically awarded to students with exceptional academic results in their 1st semester.
  • Eligible students who didn’t receive the HAN NL Scholarship receive a one-time payment of €2,500 in the 2nd semester.

• Motivation Letter: Write a detailed explanation of why you believe you will be a successful student at HAN.

• Short Video: Record a video of up to 3 minutes addressing the following points:

  • Introduce yourself and highlight your strengths.
  • Share what your former teachers or friends would say about you.
  • Discuss your chosen course of study at HAN and why you selected it.
  • Imagine working in a team—explain the role you would take based on your personality or experience.
