The Sydney Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship is a prestigious award offered by the University of Sydney in Australia to attract high-achieving international students who wish to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate studies. It is a merit-based scholarship designed to support international students with excellent academic credentials.

Who Can Apply?

• International student, present in Australia on a student visa.
• Enrolling for a full-time UG or PG coursework program.
• Submitted proof of English language proficiency
  • IELTS: 6.5
  • TOEFL-iBT: 96
  • TOEFL-PBT: 592
• Confirmation of admission to the chosen program at the University of Sydney.

Application Procedure

• There is no separate scholarship application. Students are automatically considered for the Sydney Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship when they apply for admission to an eligible program at the University of Sydney.
• To be eligible, applicants must apply for admission by the relevant deadline for their semester of entry.
• The university evaluates the applications and selects candidates based on the academic performance and other criteria.

What Financial Support is Available?

• For the AUD 40,000 scholarship, the award is disbursed in two installments over the first year of study, with the second installment paid after the successful completion of the first semester.
• The AUD 20,000, AUD 10,000, and AUD 5,000 scholarships are provided as one-time payments upon commencing the course.

Other Details

Termination

a. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:

i. withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,

ii. becomes a domestic student,

iii. commences part-time study without prior approval,

iv. does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,

v. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,

vi. has accepted another scholarship administered by the University of Sydney (funded by the University or by a third party), of a value at or exceeding A$10,000 per annum,

vii. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave, or

viii. any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.

b. Where a student is found guilty of serious misconduct or withdraws from the relevant course, the University reserves the right to request that any Scholarship funds paid to the Scholarship recipient be reimbursed.
