Overview

The University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship (UGS) is a prestigious funding opportunity for both Master’s and PhD students pursuing graduate studies at one of Canada’s top research-intensive institutions. The scholarship is available to new and continuing students who are nominated by their respective departments. It is designed to support students in various fields of study, including humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, and veterinary sciences.

Who Can Apply?

• Open to international and domestic students who are in full-time, graduate-level programs.
• Students must be in their first 36 months of a Master’s degree or first 48 months of a PhD program.
• Applicants must have an academic average of at least 80% to be eligible.

Application Procedure

1. Prepare Application Documents:

   • Cover letter outlining the progress or proposed research.
   • Updated CV detailing academic and research accomplishments.
   • Research program outline (maximum 500 words).
   • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended (except USask).

2. Submit Letters of Recommendation:

   • Three reference letters from individuals familiar with your academic work.
   • Letters should be sent directly to gradstudies.awards@usask.ca with the scholarship name and applicant’s details mentioned.

3. Complete Online Application:

   • Visit the USask Graduate Scholarship portal and submit all required documents before the deadline.

What Financial Support is Available?

• Master’s: $25,000/year plus full tuition for up to 2.5 years.
• PhD: $30,000/year plus full tuition for up to 4 years.
• Travel Allowance: A $5,000 travel grant, applicable throughout the duration of the award.
