The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is a prestigious, fully-funded scholarship offering international students the opportunity to pursue a Ph.D. in Singapore. It is a collaborative initiative by the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS), and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).

Who Can Apply?

• Applicants should not have previously studied or worked in Singapore.

• A strong Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in a relevant field. Academic transcripts are required.

• Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English (IELTS, TOEFL, or GRE scores may be requested).

• Two academic reference reports must be submitted online by referees.

Application Procedure

Candidates are required to submit their applications via the official SINGA portal. All necessary documents, including a valid passport, academic transcripts, and recommendation letters, must be uploaded through the online system. There is no need to send hard copies.

• A valid passport
• A passport-sized photo in JPEG or PNG format
• Academic transcripts (translated into English if necessary)
• Certificates for Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degrees
• Two recommendation letters submitted online by referees
• IELTS, TOEFL, or GRE scores (if requested by the university)

What Financial Support is Available?

• Full tuition fees are covered for up to four years of study.
• Students receive a monthly stipend of S$2,700, which increases to S$3,200 after successfully completing the Qualifying Examination.
• A one-time grant of up to S$1,500 is provided for airfare, along with a settling-in allowance of S$1,000.
• The average monthly living expenses in Singapore range between S$1,400 and S$2,000, covering necessities such as food, accommodation, transportation, and other personal costs.
• First-year students are usually given priority for on-campus housing, with costs ranging from S$400 to S$700 per month, depending on the accommodation type.
