The Forrest Research Foundation ("the Foundation") at The University of Western Australia was founded in 2014 after a generous donation of $65 million over ten years from Andrew and Nicola Forrest through the Minderoo Foundation. This contribution aims to position Western Australia as a global leader in research and innovation by attracting exceptional intellectual talent to the region.
The Forrest Research Foundation Research Fellowships are designed to support outstanding early-career post-doctoral researchers, enabling them to carry out high-quality research at a Western Australian university.
Forrest Fellows are expected to be individuals of remarkable ability, demonstrating top-tier academic achievements and the potential to make a significant positive impact on the world. These fellows will play a pivotal role in enhancing the research and innovation capacity of Western Australia.
The fellowships are offered in conjunction with an employment contract at a Western Australian university. Part of the contract involves supporting the mission of the Forrest Research Foundation, including mentoring Forrest Scholars and fulfilling ambassadorial duties. Fellows are also expected to provide leadership and mentorship within Forrest Hall.
