The University of Oxford, one of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions, offers the Commonwealth Shared Scholarships for Developing Countries, an initiative designed to provide outstanding students from eligible nations the opportunity to pursue postgraduate education. For 2024, this scholarship programme continues its mission to empower scholars, support sustainable development, and foster global cooperation.

Who Can Apply?

• Possess a first degree with either first-class or upper second-class honours.
• Be citizens of a developing Commonwealth country and not currently residing or studying in a developed nation.
• Have not previously undertaken studies of one year or longer in a developed country.
• Provide written confirmation that neither they nor their families can afford the cost of studying in the UK.

Application Procedure

To apply for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship:

1. Complete the online scholarship application form on the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s website by 4pm (GMT) on December 14, 2023.
2. Submit your application for graduate study by the relevant deadline for your chosen course.

Only candidates who meet both criteria will be considered for the scholarship. Applicants must be applying for an approved Master's course at a participating UK university.

What Financial Support is Available?

• Full coverage of course fees.
• A living allowance of at least £14,832 for full-time students.
• Return airfare from the recipient's home country.
