The Sir James McNeill Postgraduate Research Scholarship aims to support exceptional students in their research journey by covering financial expenses so they can focus on their studies. This competitive scholarship is available for both domestic and international students who meet the eligibility requirements. It is awarded based on academic merit and the potential of the applicant’s research project to create significant benefits in their field of study.

Who Can Apply?

• A New Zealand citizen.
• An Australian citizen.
• Australian permanent resident.
• Australian humanitarian visa holder.

Application Procedure

1. Obtain an Invitation to Apply: Before applying, you need an invitation. To receive one, you must complete an expression of interest and/or connect with a supervisor who agrees to oversee your research, depending on the faculty or institute’s requirements.
2. Register and Apply: Register for Graduate Research Admission and Scholarship by clicking “Apply Now.”
3. Online Application Guidance: Detailed instructions for each section of the online application are provided here.
4. Scholarship Consideration: Indicate on the application form that you want to be considered for a scholarship. A separate scholarship application form is not required.
5. Automatic Consideration for Scholarships: You will automatically be considered for all eligible graduate research scholarships without needing to specify each one.

What Financial Support is Available?

• Annual living allowance:  $50,291.
• Relocation allowance: $2,000.
• Research allowance per annum: $1,500.
