Overview

The Emile Boutmy Scholarship is a prestigious award designed for outstanding international students wishing to pursue undergraduate or master's degree programs at Sciences Po, one of France's most renowned higher education institutions. Named after the founder of Sciences Po, Émile Boutmy, this scholarship aims to support talented students who demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to making a difference in their communities.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be: first time applicants, from a non-European Union state, whose household does not file taxes within the European Union, and who have been admitted to the Undergraduate or Master's programme.

Application Procedure

1. Students must indicate that they are applying for the Emile Boutmy scholarship in the “Financial information” section of their Sciences Po application.
2. Please note that we might ask applicants to provide proof of income and documents explaining their family situation (e.g. income tax return for both parents, payslips, divorce certificate, unemployment benefits, documents related to alimony, child support or retirement pensions, death certificate…).
3. Applicants must also attach, if applicable, their language test before the application deadline for the scholarship.
4. The Admissions Department is responsible for awarding Emile Boutmy scholarships. Please note that your scholarship request will only be taken into account if you are admitted to one of our eligible programs.

What Financial Support is Available?

Undergraduate:

• The scholarship can take different forms, including:
  • A €7,300 annual tuition grant for the three years of the undergraduate program, along with an additional €5,000 per year to cover living expenses.
  • A €7,300 annual tuition grant for three years.
  • A €5,000 annual tuition grant for three years.
  • A €3,000 annual tuition grant for three years.
  • In exceptional cases, a €19,000 scholarship may be awarded to cover all three years of the undergraduate program. The final amount is determined by the admissions jury.

Master’s:

• The scholarship can take two forms:
  • A €10,000 annual grant for tuition fees for the two years of the master’s program.
  • A €5,000 annual tuition grant for two years.
