Overview

The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) is a highly competitive and fully funded scholarship that empowers emerging leaders from developing countries to pursue advanced studies in fields related to economic development. Funded by the Japanese government and the World Bank, this scholarship supports talented individuals who are committed to contributing to their country's socio-economic progress upon completing their studies.

• The program requires applicants to possess prior experience of volunteering for their countries’ development.
• JWBGSP offers scholarships for 45 participating Masters programs in 27 universities in U.S., Europe, Africa, Oceania and Japan.
• Students must pursue a master’s degree in key areas of development that includes economic policy management, tax policy, and infrastructure management.

Who Can Apply?

• Citizens of World Bank member developing country.
• Hold a bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree earned at least 3 years prior to the Application Deadline date;

Application Procedure

• ou must first apply for admission to one or more of the Partner Masters Degree Program(s). Inquiries on how to submit an admissions application to a partner program should be submitted to the respective university.

What Financial Support is Available?

• In addition to the two-way air travel, scholars will receive a US $600 travel allowance for each trip.
