The Swedish Institute (SI) Pioneering Women in STEM Scholarship for 2025 is a transformative program designed to empower women from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This prestigious, fully funded scholarship offers outstanding female students from eligible countries the opportunity to pursue a master's degree in Sweden, one of the world’s most innovative and gender-equal nations. Who Can Apply?

• To apply for the scholarship you must be a female citizen of one of the 10 eligible countries. Female citizens of the following countries are eligable to apply to the SI Scholarship Pioneering Women in STEM: Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Thailand, Vietnam. 
• You must follow the steps of University Admissions and be admitted to one of the eligible master’s programmes on the day of admissions announcements.
• If you have already been awarded an SI Scholarship or a university degree in Sweden, you are not eligable to apply for this scholarship. 

Application Procedure

Step:1 - Select a master´s programme: Date:15 Oct 2024 – 15 Jan 2025

Step:2 - Apply through University Admissions: Date:15 Oct 2024 – 15 Jan 2025

Step:3 - Let SI know you have applied: Date:1 Nov 2024 – 15 Jan 2025

Step:4  - Recieve notifications from University Admissions and SI: Date:27 Mar 2025 – 24 Apr 2025

What Financial Support is Available?

• Full tuition fee coverage. The fee is paid directly by SI to your Swedish university in the beginning of each semester.
• A monthly stipend of SEK 12,000 to cover your living expenses throughout the study period.
• A travel grant of SEK 15,000. This is a one-time payment and does not apply for students already living in Sweden.
