To be considered for the Sydney International Student Award, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Must be a citizen of one of these countries:
Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, or Vietnam.
Must have received admission into a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program starting in 2025
Must not be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, nor a permanent resident of Australia
Must not have already begun a degree at the University of Sydney (except if applying for a second degree after completing one)

Visit the University of Sydney’s official website and apply for your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree.
During the application, select your nationality. If you are from one of the eligible countries, the system will prompt you to upload a personal statement to apply for the award.
Use the official template provided by the university. You’ll need to answer three prompts, each within 200 words:
