King’s College London is offering an incredible opportunity for aspiring PhD students through the Harold Moody Postgraduate Research (PGR) Studentship for the 2025/26 academic year. Aimed at supporting talented Black British scholars, this fully funded scheme is designed to increase representation in doctoral research across a wide range of academic disciplines.

These studentships are open for doctoral study at three key faculties:
Faculty of Arts & Humanities
Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy
King’s Business School
Each of the nine available studentships includes:
Full tuition fee coverage (Home rate)
Annual stipend at UKRI rate (approx. £21,237 for 2024/25)
Research support of up to £1,000 per year
Duration: 4 years full-time or 7 years part-time
This opportunity is exclusively for applicants who:
Identify as Black British, Black African, Black Caribbean, Black Other, or Mixed Black ethnicity
Are UK permanent residents and eligible for home fee status
Are not already enrolled in a PhD at King’s
Are applying for an eligible MPhil/PhD programme starting in October 2025
Are not pursuing a distance learning, MD(Res), professional doctorate, or joint PhD programme

Submit your online application for an eligible full-time/part-time MPhil/PhD programme starting October 2025.
Add the Funding Code
Under the “Funding” section, enter: 2526-THM (exactly as shown). This must be added by 21 April 2025.
Submit supporting documents
Make sure your transcripts, certificates, research proposal, and references are all uploaded by 05 May 2025.
Secure an offer
You must hold a formal admission offer by 13 June 2025 to be considered.
