Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the World Bank Legal Internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Must be a citizen of a World Bank IBRD member state.
Must be enrolled in a legal academic program (LLB, JD, LLM, SJD, PhD, or equivalent) during the internship period.
Must have an excellent command of English.
Proficiency in an additional IBRD working language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is preferred.
Open to both international and U.S.-based students.

Internship Cycles & Application Deadlines

Internship Responsibilities

Interns will engage in a variety of legal tasks, including but not limited to:

Conducting legal research and analysis under the supervision of senior lawyers.

Supporting legal and policy discussions related to World Bank operations.
Assisting in the organization of conferences and meetings.
