International Fund for Cultural Diversity: Funding Opportunities for Cultural Innovation

The International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) provides funding to innovative projects that foster cultural diversity and sustainable development. Through an open and competitive selection process, the IFCD supports initiatives that bring structural changes in the cultural sector by enhancing policies, strengthening institutions, and expanding access to diverse cultural expressions.

The IFCD offers grants of up to $100,000 USD for projects implemented over a period of 12 to 24 months. Projects are assessed based on their relevance, feasibility, financial management capacity, and expected impact.

The 2025 Call for Applications is now open! The sixteenth application round runs from 19 March to 21 May 2025. Eligible organizations are encouraged to submit proposals aimed at fostering cultural innovation and development.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible Projects

IFCD funding is directed towards projects that bring structural transformation in the cultural sector through:

Developing and implementing policies and measures that enhance the creation, production, distribution, and accessibility of diverse cultural goods, services, and activities.
Strengthening human and institutional capacities within public and civil society organizations to build sustainable cultural industries and markets in developing countries.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must be from eligible developing countries that are Parties to the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. Eligible entities include:

Public authorities and institutions involved in cultural policy and development.
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) engaged in cultural initiatives.
International non-governmental organizations (INGOs) registered in countries that are Parties to the 2005 Convention.

Maximum Grant Amount: Up to $100,000 USD.
Implementation Duration: Minimum 12 months and maximum 24 months.
Submission Languages: Proposals can be submitted in English or French
