The Sally Sainsbury History Scholarship at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) represents a remarkable opportunity for students passionate about history. Benefits
- Provides GBP 1,250 per year for three years.
Eligibility Criteria
- For 2024/25 entry students three scholarships will be available
- You must have enrolled in September 2024 and be in the first year of your course in the School of History
- You must be a permanent resident in the City of London, London Borough of Tower Hamlets, the London Borough of Newham or the London Borough of Hackney and have lived there for at least three years
- You must be assessed by Student Finance England as having a household income of £42,875 or less. You do not need to take any loans if you do not wish to do so but you must ensure that you request a full income assessment by SFE when you apply for your student finance so that we can verify your household income figure.
Application Proecess

Secure Admission:
- Students must first apply and gain admission to a history undergraduate programme at QMUL. The scholarship is only available to those who have received an offer of admission.

Complete the Scholarship Application:
- Once admitted, students should complete the scholarship application, which typically includes a personal statement detailing their interest in history, academic achievements, and future aspirations.

- The scholarship committee values not only academic excellence but also a demonstrated commitment to history through extracurricular activities, such as volunteering, internships, or participation in history-related clubs.
